Magnesium Can Help You Meet Your Workout Goals

Magnesium and exercise, athletes, recovery and sore muscles

Exercise is an incredible way to get heathy and keep your body working at peak performance.  Not only does it typically result in weight loss (hello beach body!), it also increases oxygen intake, helps lower blood pressure, reduces stress, can boost immunity–and so much more! But nothing this amazing comes with out risk.   So what’s the catch?

There is a balance to all we do in life and the same is true with exercise.  After strenuous exercise and hard work – like a hard sweat session in the gym – your body needs to refuel all that energy expenditure. We already know that it’s important to drink plenty of water, eat proteins and take rest days, but did you know it’s also important to replenish your magnesium stores after a workout?

Why You Need Magnesium and What Does It Do?

magnesium and exercise, muscle cramps, muscle soreness

Magnesium helps regulate blood pressure, strengthens muscles and bones, and supports cardiac and brain function. According to the National Institutes of Health, magnesium is one of the most important micronutrients!  There is an interesting relationship between magnesium and those who engage in regular physical exercise though. While exercise is great for your health –  it improves your immune system and your ability to fight infection (which is great news!) – exercise also depletes your magnesium stores.  If you’re not getting enough magnesium, exercise can impact metabolism, muscle function, oxygen uptake, and electrolyte balance.

A hard workout increases sweat loss that may increase magnesium requirements by 10-20%!  Recent research shows that magnesium deficiency effects a HUGE amount of the US population (up to 68% of people!!).  Athletes participating in sports requiring weight control are especially vulnerable to this. So, the good news is, you’re exercising to get heathy and fit, but the bad news is, your ability to perform physical work may be compromised.

Thankfully, there is a easy solution.

Keep Doing What You’re Doing and Don’t Stop Moving!

How magnesium and exercise effects your body

No, this is not an excuse to ditch your exercise program.  Exercise and magnesium can actually work together to balance and improve your immune system. With the right balance of minerals, you can rock your gym session and reap the rewards of a healthier, more vibrant body.  You just need to add that missing magnesium back after your workouts.

How Do I Stay Healthy?

The bottom line: Maintain your health by exercising and increasing your magnesium intake. Pick an exercise you enjoy, find a friend and make it a habit!  And when you’re done pumping iron, make sure to replenish your magnesium levels.  Soooo…..How do you get those levels up?  Epsom salts are loaded with magnesium which is why so many trainers recommend a salt soak in the tub after a hard workout.   This is a wonderful and relaxing solution but not everyone has time to chill in the tub daily.  Thankfully, there is an easier answer.

It’s surprisingly simple, and you don’t have to take a single pill – topical magnesium!  Using magnesium on your skin can help restore your levels quickly and easily (and you don’t need a bathtub to do it).  Thankfully, Dope Minerals has created an incredible magnesium infused magical body cream (now available with CBD!). Our specially formulated, herbal-infused products are made with the highest quality, pure magnesium chloride oil.

Stay healthy, stay fit, stay balanced with exercise and magnesium.  Got Magnesium?

Thank you so much for this valuable information!! I have been using your magnesium ( I call it “ miracle cream”) since September. I was experiencing muscles cramping everyday for weeks. Nothing… I mean nothing seemed to help. I Even went to see a specialist to get to the bottom of it. Nothing. It wasn’t until a friend told me about your product just before I was scheduled to get an MRI. I was so nervous about the MRI thinking my legs would cramp up while I was in the machine. I used the cream the night before and for the 1st time in weeks… I had no muscle cramps!!! I haven’t had anymore since! I thank God I found your products!!!!
